Summit Educational Service Center is proud to announce that Steve Miller, a distinguished member of our team, has been honored with the prestigious Mathematics Leader Award by the Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics (OCTM) for 2024.
This award, established in 2023, recognizes exemplary educators in K-12 mathematics who have served as instructional coaches, mathematics specialists, or school or district administrators. These individuals are celebrated for their effective and supportive leadership in enhancing mathematics learning and teaching.
Steve has been affectionately referred to as the "Father of MMR" (Mathematics, Measurement, and Reasoning) for his innovative approaches and deep commitment to mathematics education. His thoughtful and reflective methods have not only advanced the curriculum but have also inspired countless educators and students. Steve's legacy extends beyond formulas and figures; he has profoundly impacted the lives of many, ensuring a lasting influence on future generations of mathematicians.
