We are proud to announce that Superintendent Joe Iacano has been named to Leadership Akron’s Signature Class 36. Iacano was one of only 40 members selected for the program out of an abundance of qualified applicants.
“I am very honored to be chosen for the Leadership Akron Signature Program,” said Iacano. “I look forward to participating in the monthly seminars, learning from other elite leaders in Akron and hope to bring back what I learn to help benefit Summit ESC.”
The Leadership Akron Signature Program brings together the region’s top leaders from diverse sectors who are interested in broadening their community impact. The program lasts for ten months, from August through June, with a daylong experience each month that provides the class a hands-on, behind-the-scenes look from Leadership Akron alumni who have expertise in the field of interest for that day. The program includes short site visits to unique locations to provide a deeper understanding of timely topics. The program also provides participants a unique opportunity to build relationships with other like-minded individuals of diverse backgrounds.
For more than 35 years, Leadership Akron has been connecting leaders to advance the Akron and Summit County areas. The group helps leaders see beyond their own spheres to the bigger picture of the community and inspires them to become more effectively involved as community leaders.
