The Summit Educational Service Center (ESC) recently welcomed
a new Board of Governors member. Josie Roemer was sworn into office on June 16
by her husband, 38 District State Representative Bill Roemer
(R-Richfield), a former member of the ESC Board.
Roemer is replacing James Carr, who resigned his seat. Her term will run through December 2021. A resident of Richfield, Roemer is retired from DAE Inc. in Twinsburg, where she served as Executive Vice President.
Roemer said she is grateful for the opportunity to serve the
children and school districts across the Summit ESC service area. “The chance to give back to the community
while utilizing my years of business experience to insure that efficient
policies are implemented is what drew me to the position,” explained
Roemer. “I look forward to working
closely with my fellow Board members, the Superintendent and the Treasurer, as
we jointly strive to make the Summit ESC the professional, proactive partner to
our many school districts.”
Roemer is a Board member for the Ohio Region of Classic Car Club of America and a previous Board member for the Hudson Blossom Women’s Committee. She is the mother of two grown sons and enjoys gardening, genealogy and reading.
The Summit ESC, based in Cuyahoga Falls, works with school
districts in Northeast Ohio to provide contract-based services, such as
audiology, speech therapy, behavior therapy and professional development
opportunities for school personnel.
