Identifying EL Students for Special Education:
Making “True-Peer” Comparisons
In this professional presentation, participants will extend their knowledge on updated best practices to assess English Learners for special education services considering metrics that are common regardless of their first language. The participant will obtain knowledge of assessment tolls as well as validity evaluation tools to make sure that “true-peer” comparisons are being made and result are valid rather than expression of differences in culture and /or language.
