Summit ESC Names Sean Fremon as New Board Member
Summit Educational Service Center (ESC) recently hired Sean Fremon as the newest board member, who officially began his new role on March 19.
Currently, Fremon serves as President for PLX Industries,
Inc. and Logo.me LLC Promotional Products, overseeing the daily business,
financial operations and sales and marketing of the businesses, which both ship
products across North America.
Prior to this, Fremon founded Cole Industries in 2002, a
multiple winner of business awards including the Inc. 5000 and Weatherhead 100.
He has also served in two national sales management roles, is a graduate of Leadership
Akron Class XXV and is a committed advocate for people with disabilities.
Fremon graduated from California State University, San
Bernardino, with a bachelor’s degree in Communication and served in the Armed
Forces as an Air Force journalist and public affairs specialist for the 63rd
Military Airlift Wing. He is a graduate of the Defense Information School. He
also showcases an extensive background in community service, including
positions as founding president and current board member of the Coventry
Schools Foundation, and vice president of the Coventry Financial Planning and
Supervision Commission, which he was appointed to by Gov. John Kasich in 2016.
"I'm excited to be on the Summit Educational Service Center’s board,” said Fremon. “It's great seeing all of the support services that ESC supplies to its member schools in Summit and the surrounding counties, and its 39,000 students."
In his free time, Fremon enjoys competitive running,
triathlons and boating. He also founded and leads Woods, Inc., a group of
individuals in Akron, including doctors, business people and social services
professionals, who hike to homeless camps in the local area and deliver
services and food with hopes to eventually assist them in finding housing. To
date, these hikes have resulted in over 100 individuals who are chronically
homeless securing housing.
"My goals are to help the Summit ESC in any way I can with the background that I have,” said Fremon. “Everyone I have met at the ESC has been great and has a very high level of professionalism."
Residing in Portage Lakes, Fremon is married to his wife,
Michelle, and has three children and one stepdaughter.
“We are all very excited to have Sean on our board and know
he will make a positive impact on the decisions we make and the families served
by Summit ESC,” said Superintendent Joe Iacano. “He is passionate about
bettering our board and I look forward to all that he will do for Summit ESC.”
