COVID-19 Vaccine Townhall for School Staff

Hear Dr. Michael Bigham and Dr. Eric Robinette,  of Akron Children’s Hospital,  discuss the science behind the vaccine and answer questions from local educators.

Information about presenters:

Michele Wilmoth MSN, RN, LSN, NCSN

Mrs Wilmoth is the Director of School Health Services at Akron Children’s Hospital.   She oversees the operations of a school district partnership program for school nursing and health related services, this school year, serving over 300 school buildings across a 10 county region in NEO Ohio.  Mrs. Wilmoth will serve as moderator for this panel discussion with her physician colleagues.
 
Michael T. Bigham, MD, FAAP, FCCM
 
Dr. Bigham is the first Chief Quality Officer and a Pediatric Critical Care Physician at Akron Children’s Hospital – where he has worked for over 12 years. As Chief Quality Officer he serves on the hospital’s executive team and oversees quality, safety, and patient-experience across the enterprise.  He has led clinical and quality improvement efforts locally and nationally.  He has over 65 peer-reviewed publications and dozens more textbook chapters and invited lectures on the topics of critical care, patient transport, quality, safety, and health equity. In addition to these duties, Dr. Bigham has led the medical care activities related to COVID-19 since March of last year – and is leading Akron Children’s Hospital vaccine roll-out.  
 
Eric Robinette MD, MPH
 
Dr. Robinette is a clinical infectious disease physician and physician informaticist at Akron Children’s Hospital. He completed his fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital where he also graduated from the Quality Scholars program. He holds a masters in public health from The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice. He specializes in quality improvement and pediatric bone and joint infections and has published work in both fields. He has led the Akron Children’s influenza vaccine quality improvement program since 2019. He is currently helping lead the Akron Children’s Hospital COVID-19 vaccination program.
