This workshop is designed to help school personnel work with students and parents to prevent and intervene in bullying and peer aggression. The training will teach specific prevention strategies that professionals can use with schools and organizations in structuring a positive learning environment. Participants will learn and practice a variety of behavioral and cognitive strategies to assist targets of aggression, aggressive students, and bystanders in peer aggression situations.
· Participants will explore and understand the structures necessary to prevent bullying and develop a positive school climate.
· Participants will understand the link between pro-social skills and academic performance, especially as they relate to trauma.
· Participants will discuss and practice specific behavioral and cognitive strategies to help students and parents reduce aggressive behaviors in bullies and targets.
