Key Additions to the SESC Team for the 2023-24 Academic Year

Summit ESC is thrilled to kick off the new academic year by welcoming a dynamic group of seasoned professionals to the team!

Steve Barrett, Coordinator of Kid’s First and TOPS

With 34 years in education, he's set to manage program activities, monitor student progress, and set educational standards. His background includes a tenure as a superintendent and degrees from Cleveland State University and Case Western Reserve University.

Cerafina Gotto, Gifted Education Consultant

Cerafina joins our Summit ESC gifted team, where she will focus her work on gifted student support, student enrichment, and gifted student identification. Additionally, Cerafina will communicate and collaborate with school staff and parents about how to best serve gifted students in our districts.  Finally, she will work to provide professional development and learning opportunities for educators about the world of gifted education.

Lucia Heddleson, English Learner Consultant & World Language Consultant

Lucia comes to the ESC in the role of English Language Learner (ELL) consultant where she will work closely with districts to support and supervise their ELL programs and initiatives.  Additionally, with her extensive experience as a world language teacher, Lucia will have the opportunity to provide professional development for world language teachers as we continue to find new ways to support all educators in Northeast Ohio and beyond.

Samantha Price, Work Study Coordinator

Bringing 11 years as an Intervention Specialist, she will lead post-secondary transition services for students with disabilities and collaborate with community leaders for work-based opportunities. A University of Toledo alumnus, she's also pursuing studies in Secondary Transition.

As we embark on a new academic year, the addition of these dedicated professionals infuses our team with renewed energy and expertise. We're immensely grateful to have Steve, Samantha, Cerafina, and Lucia onboard and look forward to the remarkable contributions they will bring to our districts.
