The Summit
Educational Service Center (ESC) and Renhill Group, an Ohio teacher staffing
firm, will host a Substitute Job Fair on Aug. 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the
Summit ESC Event Center, located at 420 Washington Avenue in Cuyahoga Falls. The available
substitute opportunities include full-day and half-day assignments for
teachers, classroom assistants and classroom attendants for the Integrated
Preschool Program throughout Summit County as well as teachers and classroom
assistants for both KIDS FIRST and Transition Opportunity Program for Students
(TOPS) in the Copley-Fairlawn City School District.
“The
opportunities available at the Summit ESC are more than just a job,” says
Bailey Koester, Department Manager, Education, at the Renhill Group. “Substitute
teachers and classroom assistants play vital roles in the education and
well-being of the community’s children. We are looking to hire people who
understand that role and embrace it.”
The Integrated
Preschool Program is for preschool-aged children with special needs as well as
typically developing peers. Substitutes will engage in play with students,
assist with arrival and departure activities, toileting (as necessary),
facilitating snack time and various other activities.
The KIDS FIRST program serves students, from kindergarten through grade eight, who
have an Autism Spectrum Diagnosis. TOPS serves high school students throughout
Summit County. Substitutes for both of these programs are expected to be active
participants in the classroom and engage in constant interaction with students.
Candidates must also be comfortable in dealing with severe behaviors and be
able to provide intense interventions as needed.
“We are looking for the best possible
candidates who enjoy working with all children, including those with special
needs,” says Kristen Matti, Hiring & Compliance Specialist for the Renhill
Group. “Prior teaching experience is not required as we offer comprehensive
training for successful candidates.”
Interested parties are asked to bring
a copy of their resume and two forms of ID to the job fair. Candidates should
be prepared to interview on the spot. Renhill Group is the employer for all substitute positions for the
Summit ESC.
